Building an AI Agent in n8n

It’s simpler than you think. At its core, an agent is an application designed to achieve

a goal: it observes the world around it and takes actions using the tools it has access to.

Agents consist of three main components: 1. The Model This is the LLM

powering the agent — basically its brain. 2. Orchestration Layer

This handles reasoning and decision-making. It contains things like goals, system instructions,

persona, memory, and any planning or reasoning modules. 3.

Tools This is what actually allows an agent to do things — taking actions,

interacting with the world, retrieving information, sending messages, etc.
