Choosing Myself Over a Friend's Crisis

I walked out on my best friend… at his lowest point. Yeah. I know how that

Liam, and I have known each other since high school. He’s always been

the “wild one.” Parties, impulsive decisions, quitting jobs like it’s nothing.

And somehow… I always ended up cleaning up the mess. Two months ago, his girlfriend left

him. It destroyed him. He called me every night—crying, ranting,

begging me to come over. And I did. After work. After gym.

On nights I needed sleep. I was there. But it wasn’t getting better.
