Comfortable Lies Over Harsh Truths

The Matrix proves that humans actually hate the truth. Everyone thinks they’d take the

red pill like Neo, but deep down, most of us are Cipher. See, in Plato’s Allegory

of the Cave, escaping to reality is an upgrade. But in The Matrix, the real world is

a cold, miserable wasteland. Cipher realizes that a fake juicy steak tastes better

than real freedom in a sewer. We do this constantly. We cling to comfortable lies and safe bubbles

because the truth hurts. At the end of the day, we don't want facts.

We just want a story that makes us feel safe.
