We have been thinking about nuclear fusion all wrong. You do not need a reactor the size
of a stadium to solve the energy crisis. A team in the UK is proving that
the future of infinite clean energy is actually tiny. They are building Spherical Tokamaks,
which look more like cored apples than the traditional giant donuts. The game-changer
here is High Temperature Superconducting magnets. These things are wrapped in special
tape that handles insane magnetic fields in a super small space. This proves we can
build compact, modular power plants right now. We might not have to wait fifty years
for clean energy after all.
