Congressional Debate: High-Stakes Roleplay

Congressional Debate is basically high-stakes roleplay for future politicians. You are literally

simulating the House and Senate, fighting over whether bills should become laws.

It is a constant back-and-forth battle. First, the Affirmation side speaks,

then you get grilled during questioning, and finally, the Negation side tries to tear it

all down. You have exactly three minutes to drop a spicy hook, layout your claims,

and roast the opposition with refutations. Pro tip: never volunteer to be the Presiding Officer because

it is way harder to score points. Just stand up, say you speak at the leisure of all,

and dominate the chamber.
