Have you ever wondered why musicians say, "One, two, three,
four," before they play? That's called counting in, and today we're
going to learn how to do that in simple time. You'll clap, move,
and even learn two ways of saying rhythms using two different solemnization systems. First thing we need
to know is, what is simple time? Simple time means that each beat divides evenly into two
parts. The most common time signatures are 2-4, 3-4,
and 4-4. Here's an example of 2-4, here's an example of 3-4,
and here's an example of 4-4. To feel 2-4 time, try marching in place.
