Discovering Young Super-Earths in the Rosette Nebula

We are about to discover a lost generation of baby planets. For years,

finding young worlds has been nearly impossible because baby stars are too chaotic and messy

to see through. But a new paper shows that NASA’s upcoming Roman Space Telescope is going

to change everything. By pointing it at the Rosette Nebula for just a few weeks, scientists predict

we will catch about thirty new super-Earths. That sounds small, but we currently only know of three

planets this young in the entire universe. We are finally going to see how solar systems actually

grow up.
