The ground beneath your feet is literally surfing on molten rock right now. It’s called plate
tectonics, where massive puzzle pieces of the Earth are constantly smashing together or ripping
apart. When rocks get stressed—yeah, they actually deal with stress—they either bend into
huge mountains or snap to cause earthquakes. But the drama isn't just underground. We’re burning ancient
fossils for energy and destroying soil that takes hundreds of years to form. The Earth is basically
a giant recycling machine that never stops moving, so we better keep up before it decides
to shake us off.
