Education or Obedience?

School forces you to memorize thousands of facts you'll never use again, then punishes you

for forgetting them three months later. They teach you the mitochondria is the powerhouse of

the cell but not how to file taxes or negotiate a salary. You spend twelve years learning to

follow arbitrary rules and sit still for eight hours, preparing you for a life of compliance

instead of critical thinking. The system wasn't designed to educate you.

It was designed to create obedient workers. That's why the smartest people you know

probably hated school.
