Nintendo almost went bankrupt before the Switch saved them. After the Wii U
disaster that sold only 13 million units, the company was bleeding money and
investors wanted them to go mobile only. But Shigeru Miyamoto locked himself in
a room for 3 days and came out with a sketch on a napkin. A console that transforms from handheld to
TV. Everyone thought he was insane. The board rejected it twice.
But he threatened to quit, so they gave him one shot. That napkin sketch
became the Switch, selling over 140 million units and making Nintendo billions.
