Good morning, everyone. The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the heart of
the computer and works by constantly repeating a three-step process called the Instruction Cycle,
which happens millions of times every second. The cycle begins with the Fetch phase, where the Control
Unit retrieves the next instruction from the RAM and immediately stores it in a Register
within the CPU. This is followed by the Decode phase, where the Control Unit translates
the instruction to determine the task to be performed and which component is needed: the ALU
(Arithmetic Logic Unit) or the Control Unit itself. Finally, in the Execute phase,
the instruction is carried out. The ALU handles mathematical problems, and the Control
