Facing the Fear

I wake up to the sound of silence, bitin' in my chest.

The world outside my window feels like one more final test. I rehearse my

words, but they tremble on my tongue. Every "hello" burns like fire in

my lungs. It's stupid, right? Being scared of the air.

The faces of echoes of the way they stare. Even the store down the street

feels like a war zone. Two steps away, but I'm already gone.

And I hate that I'm haunted by the things I've done. The ghosts of
