Fibonacci Circuit Design Challenges

Designing a digital circuit to count the Fibonacci sequence is the specific kind of torture

only engineering students understand. I am looking at this Digital Systems exam and it is absolutely

relentless. You start off easy, just building a logic gate that counts binary ones.

Then suddenly you are hand-drawing CMOS transistors and calculating voltage drops.

But the real nightmare is the final boss. You have to wire up a bunch of D-type flip-flops to count

1, 2, 3, 5, 8,

13 and loop it forever. You literally have to choose between saving money or preventing system

failure in your design. One bad Karnaugh map and your whole GPA is toast.
