Freedom Beyond Religious Boundaries

In Luke 13 Jesus heals a woman on the Sabbath and the religious leaders are outraged but

this was never an accident Jesus continually healed on the Sabbath to expose how the religious system

misunderstood the heart of God they protected rules instead of people this woman had been

bound for 18 years and she was in the synagogue which means she had likely shown up again and

again seeking healing on non Sabbath days yet no one could help her and notice this Jesus does

not say she was cured he says she was freed which tells us this was more than physical

it was spiritual bondage and Jesus makes one thing clear God’s mercy is not limited by

religious calendars freedom is always in season
