This school started inside a convent right after World War II and literally refused to quit.
Back in 1946, Tagaytay City Institute launched as the first private high school in town with
just seventy students and five teachers. It was a total nomad situation. They moved from
a convent to a random yellow house, then near the Silang border, before finally settling
down. The Batino family kept the dream alive for decades, evolving TCI into
what is now the OBB Institute of Learning. It is wild to see how a small post-war
project survived fifty years of renting to become a permanent educational legacy in Tagaytay.
