America speed-ran the journey from wild frontier to global superpower in just one century.

It kicked off with Manifest Destiny and the railroad connecting the coasts, but that expansion

came at a brutal cost to Native Americans. Then the Gilded Age created massive wealth gaps until

the Progressives stepped in to ban child labor and get women the vote. We survived the

Great Depression just to face World War II. After Pearl Harbor, the whole country

mobilized, from Navajo Code Talkers to the Tuskegee Airmen. It ended with the

atomic bomb, and the world was never the same.
