From Peace to Despair: A Global Collapse

The peace treaty that was supposed to save the world actually doomed it from the start.

After World War One, Germany got absolutely wrecked by the Treaty of Versailles,

losing land and drowning in debt. While Europe was busy redrawing maps, Russia morphed into

the Soviet Union. Stalin took over and turned the country into a nightmare of gulags and forced

starvation just to build factories. Then, the Great Depression hit in 1929 and

the global economy completely collapsed. With the whole world broke, angry,

and desperate, the stage was perfectly set for dictators to start the next global fire.
