Halfway Home

Used to trace my scars like they were maps to where I've been.

Every line another promise I forgot to keep again. Yeah. Grandma said the

storm don't last, but I've been drowning slow. Trying to pray to something I

don't really know. I left my town, but it still lives inside my

chest. Same coast at the corner store, same weight I can't confess.

They say you heal when you forgive, I'm halfway there. But I still

see your face every time I look inside the mirror. I'm halfway home

but the road keeps folding. All my dreams feel paper thin, still holding.
