The Heian Period was a time in which beauty and fashion was at its prime, and women were respected,

more than early ages in America and other civilizations after that time. Also,

shoguns were the most advanced and powerful, while the emperor was in a placeholder

position rather than a leader. In addition to that, the Fujiwara clan was a powerful clan

that dominated Japanese politics during the Heian period for over 300 years. There was also an
