You are completely wasting your coal resources. A single block of coal smelts eighty
items, which is significantly more than the seventy-two you get from nine separate pieces.
It is literally free efficiency just for crafting a block. But the game mechanics
go deeper. Your farms might be failing simply because they cross chunk borders,
since the game processes each chunk individually. Even redstone has a hidden update order,
meaning nothing actually activates at the exact same time. Once you understand
how the code calculates pathfinding and spawn limits, you stop playing a survival game
and start running a machine.
