Brazil bulldozed 100,000 trees in the Amazon rainforest to build a highway for the COP30 climate
summit. The eight-mile multi-lane road was carved through protected rainforest to transport
50,000 world leaders and climate activists to a conference about saving the environment.

environmentalists to travel. Both climate activists and skeptics are furious about the
hypocrisy. Scientists have warned for years that the Amazon is at an ecological
