If the Sun Disappeared Suddenly

What if the Sun suddenly disappeared? For the first eight minutes, nothing would change.

The sky would stay blue. The Earth would still be warm. Because sunlight

takes eight minutes to reach us. Then, without any warning, darkness would fall

across the planet. Temperatures would begin to drop rapidly. Within days, the Earth would

start freezing. Oceans would slowly turn into ice. Plants would die first.

Without sunlight, photosynthesis would stop. Animals would follow. And eventually,

humans too. But the most terrifying part comes next. Without the Sun’s gravity,

Earth would lose its orbit and drift endlessly into deep space. A silent planet.
