Introduction to the Relational Model

E.F. Codd, a British computer scientist, proposed the relational

model to model data as relations or tables in the early 1970s. After designing

the conceptual model of the database using an Entity-Relationship (ER) diagram, which we will cover

shortly, we need to convert the conceptual model into a relational model which can

be implemented using any RDBMS language like Oracle SQL, MySQL, etc. The relational
