Israel Recognizes Somaliland, Sparks Backlash

Israel just became the first country in the world to recognize Somaliland as an independent

nation. This breakaway region declared independence from Somalia back in 1991,

but until now, no one officially acknowledged it. The move has sparked massive global backlash.

Twenty-one Arab, African and Islamic nations immediately rejected it, Somalia is furious,

and the African Union is calling emergency meetings. This recognition comes at the worst
