Jesus, the Bread from Heaven

For forty years in the wilderness, the people of Israel woke each morning to a miracle.

Bread from heaven — manna — covered the ground like dew. They ate and lived.

But the next day, they were hungry again. Centuries later, crowds followed

Jesus after He fed thousands with five loaves and two fish. They wanted more signs.

More bread. Jesus looked at them and said: “You are looking for Me,

not because you saw the signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.”

Then He spoke words that reached back to the wilderness: “It was not Moses who gave you the

bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.” The crowd listened
