Your brain physically grows when you spend all your time manipulating people. Scientists put a
bunch of salespeople in MRI machines to see what makes a Machiavellian personality tick.
They found that people who are obsessed with status and willing to step on others to get
it actually have more gray matter in specific spots. Their reward centers and planning areas
were literally bigger. It is basically neuroplasticity in action. Because they spend
every waking moment plotting, suppressing their emotions, and chasing clout,
their brains bulk up in those areas just to keep up with the lies. It is like a gym
membership for villains.
