The Supreme Court literally invented its own superpower just to become equal to the President.
It all started when John Adams lost the election and spent his final night in office
frantically signing paperwork to pack the courts with his friends. This was called
the Midnight Appointments. One guy named Marbury didn't get his papers in time and sued to get his job.
Chief Justice John Marshall pulled the ultimate power move. He denied Marbury
the job but used the case to establish Judicial Review. This gave the Court the power to delete
laws they don't like, changing the government forever.
