when they feel like jelly. This is the brutal truth that humbles almost every runner
who switches to triathlon. You might have a killer stride when you are fresh,
but triathlon running is fundamentally different because you are starting the race with your
gas tank already half empty. Think about it. In a normal road race,
you line up fresh, excited, and full of energy. In a triathlon, you are hitting
the pavement after biking for miles. Your heart rate is already elevated, your quads are burning,
