effective learning, control via organizing, self-reflection. Flavell says it includes knowledge
(person, task, strategy) & experiences. Person: views as learner (study times).
Task: demands (philosophy vs. novel). Strategy: awareness of effectiveness (meta-attention,
meta-memory). Practice: know limits, assess, plan, monitor,
retrieve effectively. Ask: "What do I know/need? Time? Strategies?
Understand?" Strategies: TQLR, PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read,
