In 1972, a flight attendant named Vesna was on a plane that exploded in mid-air.

No parachute, no safety gear — she was thrown into the sky and dropped six miles straight

down. Doctors said her fall should’ve been impossible, but the section

of the plane she was trapped in likely acted like a parachute, slowing her just enough.

She crashed into snow and trees which absorbed some of the impact, though she broke

bones and was in a coma for days. But she healed, recovered, and even went back
