Narcissistic Manipulation on Vacation

Narcissist Storytime We had planned a four-day beach trip with the godparents of our oldest.

With three little kids, we decided to drive instead of flying — way less stressful.

Two weeks before the trip, my stepmother-in-law told us that my father-in-law had

a work event and “it would mean the world” if my husband came. My husband politely

said no — we’d be on vacation. But instead of respecting that, she brought it up

again at a graduation. This time she suggested we leave our vacation for a day, fly with three toddlers,

go to the event, and fly back. We said absolutely not. She’s a flight attendant,

so she goes, “Well I see families like yours fly all the time — it’s easy for them.”
