My emotions have a habit of hijacking the driver’s seat while logic gets kicked out of the
car. It is terrifying because a single delayed text or a weird shift in
tone convinces my brain you are abandoning me. I know it sounds crazy,
but the panic feels physical. I react out of fear, then immediately spiral into guilt
and over-apologize because I know I am being too much. I am working on it,
and I don’t expect you to carry this baggage for me. I just need you to know that steady,
consistent reassurance is the only thing that quiets the noise in my head.
