Splitting a single atom releases a terrifying amount of energy. This is nuclear
fission. Imagine a neutron smacking into a massive, unstable nucleus
like Uranium. It cannot handle the hit, so it snaps into two smaller pieces.
Here is the wild part. Mass actually disappears during the split and instantly converts
into pure power. It also shoots out stray neutrons that hit other atoms, starting a chain
reaction. If we control the speed, we get clean electricity for our cities.
If we don't, it becomes a weapon. It is the fine line between powering the world and destroying
it.
