Octopuses: Land Explorers of the Tide Pools

Octopuses actually live on land for hours without dying. These incredible creatures can survive

completely out of water by trapping moisture in their gill chambers and absorbing oxygen

through their skin. While we think of them as purely aquatic animals, many species regularly

crawl onto rocky shores during low tide to hunt for crabs and small fish in tide pools.

This behavior completely flips our understanding of marine life boundaries. What makes this even more remarkable

is that octopuses can navigate complex terrain using their eight arms like legs,

essentially becoming temporary land explorers in their quest for food.
