Oldest Supernova Discovered by James Webb

The James Webb telescope just spotted the oldest explosion in the history of the universe.

We are talking about a supernova from thirteen billion years ago. That is back when

the cosmos was basically a toddler. Satellites caught a burst of gamma rays,

and Webb tracked it down to a massive dying star. It completely smashes the previous record

and proves we can actually watch the very first stars die.
