Title: “I think my landlord has been breaking into my apartment when I’m not home. And now I know why!" Alright, I don’t normally post stuff like this, but I’ve been losing sleep over it, my hands are shaking as I type this, and I need to get it off my chest, and I need people to tell me if I’m losing my mind or if this is as bad as I think it is. So, I (25), Female, rent a small one-bedroom in an old brick building alone. I've been here just over a year now. My landlord - let’s call him James - a big guy in his mid 40's, who lives two floors down. He’s one of those types who keeps to himself, barely says two words other than the occasional “how’s the plumbing?” and "Thanks" when you hand him rent cheques. Honestly, that's fine by me, I'm not one for small talk anyways. A few months ago, little things started to bother me, like things have been feeling. . . off. I’d come home to weird stuff - My kitchen window cracked open, even though I always lock it. The bathroom door closed all the way, with my cat (Ginny) shut inside, which I have never done. A mug would be out on the counter when I was sure I hadn't used that specific one today, and it should still be in the cabinet. Once, my couch cushions were flipped upside down, like someone had been looking for something underneath.
