Zero is technically a rational number and that completely changes how you look at the number
line. You can actually write zero as a fraction, like zero divided
by one, which satisfies the rule for rational numbers perfectly. But it gets weirder
because between any two simple integers, like three and four, there are literally infinite rational
numbers. You can keep slicing them forever and never run out. Then you have the
irrational ones like Pi or the square root of two that never end and never repeat.
The number system is basically just a massive collection of neat fractions and chaotic,
never-ending decimals all living on the same line.
