Refusing to Babysit My Sister’s Kids

After I said no, my sister told our parents I “hate her kids.” Now my phone won’t

stop ringing. They’re saying I need to “step up as an uncle.” Then I found out

the truth. The “work dinner” was actually a girls’ night out. And she’s been telling

people I volunteer to babysit. When I confronted her, she said:

“You don’t have a real family yet, so your time isn’t important.” I told her I’m done

babysitting — permanently. Now my sister won’t speak to me, my parents say I’m selfish,

and half my family thinks I’m tearing everyone apart. So… AITA?
