The Roman Empire had this genius move called "divide and conquer" but here's the twist.
They didn't just split their enemies, they split themselves. See, managing a massive
empire got exhausting, so Emperor Diocletian in 285 AD literally cut Rome in half. East and West.
Two emperors, two capitals, double the drama. The West fell to barbarians in 476.
The East? Kept partying for another thousand years as Byzantium. So technically,
Rome didn't fall once. It fell twice. And the second time, nobody was paying
attention because it happened in 1453 when Ottoman cannons went boom at Constantinople. Wild how the empire
that conquered everything couldn't conquer its own size problem.
