Spectral Legion of York

A terrified plumber in York watched as a spectral Roman soldier marched straight out of

a solid cellar wall. Before he could scream, an entire undead legion followed,

filling the cramped room with silent, gaunt figures in corroded armor. The plumber bolted

out of the basement, screaming. Years later, in the 1970s, archaeologists excavated

that exact cellar and made a chilling discovery. Buried just beneath the modern dirt

floor was a perfectly preserved ancient Roman road, located exactly where the spectral

legion had marched.
