Did you know? Spiders reproduce sexually, with males transferring sperm to females

using specialized front appendages called pedipalps, not directly from their abdomen.

The male first creates a tiny "sperm web," deposits sperm on it, then siphons the

sperm into his pedipalps. He then inserts these pedipalps into the female's genital opening

(epigyne), delivering the sperm, which she stores until she lays eggs, often in silk cocoons.
