A roll of electrical tape is currently smarter than a trillion-dollar self-driving car. Researchers proved
that sticking just two inches of black tape on a stop sign made a Tesla accelerate to eighty-five miles
per hour. The car didn't see a stop sign anymore; it hallucinated a thirty-five mile
per hour speed limit and just floored it. This happens because AI doesn't actually
see the world like we do. It sees pixel soup. If you disrupt the vibe of those pixels
with a three-dollar sticker, the whole system crumbles. It is called a physical
adversarial attack and it is terrifyingly stupid. It is not just cars either.
There is an Italian startup selling hoodies that trick facial recognition cameras into thinking
