Your body has a secret weapon to kill cancer cells while leaving healthy ones untouched.
Our DNA is constantly getting damaged. Normally, special proteins like BRCA act as
a repair crew, fixing the breaks. But some cancers have a broken BRCA gene.
So, scientists developed a genius trick: drugs called PARP inhibitors.
These drugs take out the *backup* repair system. For your healthy cells with working
BRCA, it's no big deal. But for the cancer cells? With both their
main and backup repair crews gone, they can't fix their DNA and self-destruct. It’s a targeted
attack, exploiting the cancer's own weakness.
