In Egypt, greeting someone properly is everything. You don't just say hi and keep walking.
That's considered cold, almost disrespectful. When you meet someone, even a stranger
on the street, you stop. You ask about their health, their family,
their day. It takes time, sometimes five full minutes just to say hello.
My American friends think it's excessive, but for us, it's love. It's acknowledging
someone's existence matters. When I moved to the States, people would rush
past me mid-sentence. I felt invisible. Back home, every greeting reminds you that you're
seen, you're valued, you're human. That connection, you can't rush it.
