In those days, Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the

entire Roman world. And so Joseph went from Nazareth to Bethlehem with Mary, who was expecting

a child. There was no room for them in the inn. But in a quiet stable

on the edge of town, under a sky filled with stars, Mary gave birth to her firstborn

son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger.

That same night, shepherds watched their flocks in the fields nearby. An angel of the

Lord appeared to them, and the glory of God shone around them.
