The Black Death was actually a good thing for poor people. Sounds wild, but when the plague
wiped out a third of Europe, it created a massive labor shortage. Suddenly,
surviving peasants were in high demand. They could finally leave their old lords,
demand better wages, and get better deals on land. The power of the nobles started to
crumble. Meanwhile, kings got stronger by taking over land from all the nobles
who died without heirs. It was a total reset for society, proving that even
the darkest of times can lead to massive, unexpected change.
