his notebook—three weeks of documentation. Maps, names, stories of everyone

trapped in the walls. "I will," he said simply. "I'll remember. I'll tell their

stories. Every single one. But you have to let them go." Silence.

The heartbeat stopped. I thought we'd failed. Then slowly, the walls began to change.

Faces pressed into concrete started to relax, agony softening into peace.
