The Complexity of Survival

You are basically a complex machine running the exact same software as a mushroom or a

bacteria. Biology proves that being alive isn't a feeling, it is a strict checklist

that every organism has to follow. Whether you are a single cell or a human,

you have to consume energy, get rid of waste, and maintain a perfect internal balance

called homeostasis. If that balance slips, you crash. You move,

you react to danger, and your body is constantly building and breaking things down through metabolism.

It turns out, simply surviving is the hardest full-time job you will ever have.
