Every forest, pond, and park is a secret, bustling city. This is an ecosystem,
where living things, called biotic components, interact with non-living things, the abiotic stuff
like sun and water. It’s a perfect system. Plants are the producers, making their own food from sunlight.
Animals are the consumers, getting energy by eating. Then you have the
decomposers—nature’s recyclers like fungi and worms. They break down dead material,
sending nutrients back into the soil for plants to use. It’s a non-stop cycle of life,
death, and rebirth, where every single part has a crucial role to play.
