The Danger of Prideful Strengths

2 Samuel 14:26 "And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that

he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it) he weighed the

hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight." Absalom’s hair was

so heavy and abundant that it had to be cut yearly, and it became a symbol of his pride.

What the world praised in him would one day contribute to his downfall. Scripture teaches

us that even our strengths can become snares if they feed our ego rather than glorify God.
